A total of 18 individuals were first awarded "Lhasa Model Models" for their outstanding performance in various fields. The awarding ceremony was held on the evening of Sept.17 in Lhasa, capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).
Meanwhile, "Best Five Works" for Lhasa's construction of spiritual civilization were announced at the ceremony.
The awarded moral models come from all walks of life locally, such as Tashi Paldron, who took care of her bed-confined husband for over 17 years, Dechen Drolkar, who is nickly called “career mom” by children from Lhasa's SOS Village, and Lhapa Tsering, who has devoted himself to renovating ancient buildings and protecting Tibetan culture, etc.
As reported, altogether 32 works were received for the "Best Five works" selection, ranging from singing, dancing, drama, folk art performing, and books. And finally 14 artistic works were awarded.
