Tibetan medicine industry develops fast in Nyingchi

The Tibetan medicine industry is rapidly developing in Nyingchi.

Up to now, there is 200 mu (mu, a Chinese unit of area, equals to 1/15  of a hectare) Tibetan medicine planting base, 50 mu wild medicine reformative base and 55,000 mu Tibetan medicine planting protection base in Mailing. A new Tibetan medicine planting demonstration base is established in Bagya of Nyingchi County. In all, 800 mu red-rooted salvia has been planted in Gongbo Gyamda and 20 mu tuber of elevated gastrodia has been planted in Bome County.

The Tibetan medicine research has made great progress. By now, 108 kinds of Tibetan medicine have been developed including 22 kinds receiving national level authorization and 8 kinds putting into market by Yutuo Tibetan Medicine Co., Ltd.

A Tibetan medicine preparation center started construction with an expected yearly Tibetan medicine production of 750 tons with an increase of 6.6 per cent year-on-year.

Infrastructure for Nyingchi Biology Science & Technology Industry Garden has been basically finished and related investment attracting has been launched.
