A proposal about further promoting the development of Tibetan medicine industry was issued in Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), which is known as the key guiding document during the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015) period.
The proposal stated that a complete system would be established in Tibet Autonomous Region, in terms of medical care, Tibetan medical personnel training, Tibetan medicine production and medical service so that the professional level of medical personnel and the facilities in Tibetan medical institutions above the county level could reach the national and regional standards.
The proposal put forward the overall objective that the output value of Tibetan medicine should be doubled by the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan period.
