It was 8:50 in the morning there were many visitors waiting outside for the opening time. At nine o'clock, lots of teenagers, soldiers and foreigners come to seize the opportunity to experience the great changes taken place in Tibet over the past 60 years.

"The Tibetan culture is very unique and interesting," 83-year-old Yao Yuyan with a walking stick said in front of the culture exhibition display board while visiting the exhibition marking the 60th Anniversary of the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet at the Cultural Palace of Nationalities in Beijing. "I can never get bored with it. If necessary, I will visit here again tomorrow."  

The free exhibition opened on June 15 and will last  until Friday. It presents more than 500 pictures, and other historical documents, diagrams and multimedia projects in three exhibition halls, covering various aspects of the development of Tibet Autonomous Region, including the construction of infrastructure, education, environmental protection and people's daily life.

"Last month, I had been to Tibet and was amazed by the beauty of Lhasa," a retiree named Liu Hongbin said while watching the pictures of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. "Thanks to the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, we can have the opportunity to visit Tibet and witness the development there."

In the hall, every picture and document records the earth-shaking changes in Tibet. Flows of visitors holding their cameras were listening attentively to the guides' introductions carefully.

Gao Zhengshuan, professor of Beijing University of Technology held his camera and tried to take every picture in the exhibition hall. "Tibet is a memorable place. I will copy and enjoy these photos on my computer," he said.

In 1976, Professor Gao took over 50 students to carry on the road survey on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. "The conditions were hard at that time, but I was deeply touched by the students' devotion and responsibility," Gao burst into tears while telling the story.

At the exit of the exhibition hall, many visitors who have not given full expression of their feelings left their blessings. "Wish Tibet's tomorrow better and better." "Bless all Tibetans, wish you all a happy life on the beautiful plateau."
