Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region has achieved a total import-export value of up to USD 580 billion in the first ten months this year, source from Lhasa Customs on November 19.
According to a customs official, the total value of import and export in Tibet in the first ten months has increased by 83.7% than the same period of last year, 47% higher than the national growth rate. The regional export value amounted to USD 520 mln, up 80.2%, while the import value up to USD 60 mln, grow 125.8% with a trade surplus of USD 460 mln, increasing by 70.4%.
In October alone, the foreign trade in Tibet was reported to grow vigorously and the regional gross value of imports and exports reached USD 77.68 mln, up 189.2%, with its export value hitting USD 76.49 mln and a total import value of USD 1.19 mln, grow by 194.2% and 38.3% respectively.
