Labrang Monastery holds ceremony to pray for happiness

The Labrang Monastery in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Gansu Province, held a religious ceremony to pray for happiness and peace in the new year, on March 1, 2010, the 16th day of the first month in the Chinese lunar calendar. Monks carrying the statue of Buddha Maitreya walk around the monastery, while the Buddhism believers following them turn the prayer wheels.  (Xinhua Photo)
