Since 2006, 1 billion yuan has been invested into for constructing low-rent houses to improve the living condition of farmers and herdsmen in Tibet Autonomous Region. At present, 4,564 sets of low-rent houses have completed the construction, with 1,600 low-income families as the first batch moving into the new houses.
