A delegation of Chinese Tibetologists headed by Shen Kaiyun, vice chairman of the Tibetan Autonomous Region's Foreign Cultural Exchange Association arrived at Pairs, capital of France on Nov 23.

Frederic Laplanche, deputy director of the Asia-Pacific Department of the French Foreign Ministry, held talks with Chinese Tibetologists to discuss how to strengthen mutual understanding.

Shen Kaiyun introduced the remarkable achievements of social and economic development made in Tibet since the democratic reform in 1959. And he said he hoped more and more French could understand history and the true situation in Tibet.

Zhang Xiaoping, chief editor of China Tibet Information Center said:" By Western standards, development is still a big issue for Tibet. But each change made by Tibet is historic and significant. The best way to know Tibet well is to visit that holy land and experience its history and culture.
