The third Tibet tour for China's key web media was started in Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region, Sept. 10, 2009. Nearly 50 reporters from 30 news sites visited Jokhang Temple and experienced the Buddhism culture in such a holy land.

Jokhang Temple located in the center of Lhasa was built in the middle of 7 century and act as the spiritual center as well as the most sacred and important temple in Tibet, with many believers visiting and praying here everyday.

Choeta, a monk of Jokhang Temple said: "Sakyamuni Buddha as the enshrined Buddha in Jokhang Temple is the founder of Buddhism. And the Buddhist culture has been carried forward, inherited and developed. "

Loyal pilgrims from everywhere of Tibet trek a long distance to this temple, some of them even progress prostrate by body length to the threshold of the temple to express their pious beliefs. "Pilgrims come here not just for praying, but for purifying their own minds, adjusting their mental states taking Buddha, great historical figures as example. "
