A total of 4,081km rural highway in more than 200 villages is expected to be constructed with the investment of 1.78 billion yuan in Tibet Autonomous Region.

Up to June 2009, 19 highway construction projects such as State Road 219 line from Montser to Parga, Parga to Burang, State Road 109 line from Golmud to Lhasa and State Road 317 line from Gamtog to Gyamda have been completed with the total investment of 410 million yuan.

At the same time, 9 continued construction projects including special highway from Gongga airport to Lhasa, State Road 219 line from Parga to Mayum new bridge have been started.
