Coastal Fujian Province will spend another 67.19 million yuan on its projects to aid Tibet, which are designed to improve people's livelihood in Nyingchi Prefecture, southeastern Tibet.
According to the 5th Aid-Tibet Working Team of Fujian Province, since 2007,Fujian has altogether earmarked 230 million yuan improving the living and working conditions for farmers and herders in Nyingchi Prefecture .
The new funding will go to the construction of welfare institutes, schools, and infrastructure in farming and pastoral areas in Gongbo'gyamda, Nang and Mainling counties.
So far, the working team either has launched or continued 34 aid-Tibet projects in Nyingchi Prefecture, making Fujian Province one of the regions that provide most vigorous support to Tibet.
Since the reform and opening-up drive was initiated, the central government has convened four forums on Tibet's development, at which the decision was made to carry out aid-Tibet projects by the rest of China. By the end of 2008, other parts of China had earmarked 11.13 billion yuan to arrange 6,056 aid-Tibet projects.
