In the early tenth century, sKyid-sde-nyi-ma-rgon, Vod-srung's descendant of the Tubo royal family, came to the mNgav-ris region and his descendants established the Gu-ge Kingdom there. In the mid-fifteenth century, the Ladakh King seized the Gu-ge Palace and killed the King Jo-vo-bdag-po, which resulted in the collapse of the Gu-ge Kingdom.
