Mural Depicting Carpenters

Qing Dynasty, from the Potala Palace

Tibetan unique building style (earth, stone, and wood structures) was widely adopted early in the Tubo period. This mural depicts how timbers were processed when the White Hall of the Potala Palace was built during the period from 1645 to 1648. Tibetan woodwork tools include a saw, a planer, an adze, a chisel, a drill, an ink marker and an angle ruler.
