LHASA,TIBET,Sept. 12 (China Tibet Online) A photography exhibition themed on "Bird Nest", a nickname of the National Stadium in Beijing  was hosted in Tibet University, Lhasa, capital city of SW China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, Sept.12, 2014.

Forty-six pieces of photographic works shot by photographer Sha Wanquan within two year since 2010 were displayed, which had attracted many teachers and students of the Tibet University, as well as residents of Lhasa, who came to appreciate the glamour of the "Bird Nest", the main venue of Beijing Olympic Games in 2008.

It is the first time that the "Bird Nest" has ever been exhibited on the plateau, according to Sha, saying that it was a "dream-comes-true" for him.

"The exhibition brings the Tibetan people close to the "Bird Nest", and has profound significance of promoting the sports spirit in Lhasa," said Ma Xinming, vice secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Lhasa.

Tashi Droje, a student from the Department of Architecture of Tibet University said the exhibition inspired him to do a better job by combining the Tibetan architecture with inland architecture.

It is said that the exhibition will be presented in Beijing, Shanghai, Berlin of German, Seoul the capital city of South Korea and Barcelona of Spain.
