East Guro-Haizishan Road project upgraded in Sichuan

Photo taken on Sept. 14, 2014 shows a bridge of the East Guro - Haizishan Road in the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Garze, southwest China's Sichuan Province. The mountain road is dubbed as "the Chinese Landscape Avenue" thanks to the beautiful scenery along the road. Since 2011, China has invested 4.5 billion RMB yuan (733 million U.S. dollars) to upgrade the road in order to improve the traffic safety. The upgrade project is expected to be completed in the beginning of 2015. From then on , travel time between East Guro and Haizishan will be shortened to 5 hours from 10 hours. (Xinhua/Liu Kun)
