As one of the necessities which can't miss in Tibetan New Year, Tibetan food has lots of differences from those in other places. Its cuisine culture, like its mysterious scenaries, unleashes unique glamour.
Special food for Losar:
On December 29 of Tibetan calendar, when it is dark, every family member sits around the table according to his or her seniority in the family tree and eats Tuba. It is a ceremony called "Guthuk" to drive evil away and can be traced back to Tibetans' rituals. This is a very grand ceremony, and in Tibetan language, "Gu" means nine (for 29), and "thuk" means Tuba.[Photo/Xinhua]
