Tibet's oldest monastery receives volunteer medical consultation

Samye Monastery, Tibet's oldest Buddhist monastery received free medical consultation offered by volunteers from Shannan Prefecture on Feb. 5, 2012.

Medical expert Paseng Lhundrup from the prefectural Tibetan Hospital gave a practical lecture on high blood pressure, diabetes and phthisic which are closely related to the daily dining habits of ordinary monks.

Aside from medical consulting, a selection of scientific books and brochures were also handed out for free.

Helpful scientific knowledge in both Tibetan and Mandarin were demonstrated on poster boards, attracting a large audience in the monastery.
