Lhasa will kick off the construction of its first farm and animal produce trade fair after the location was decided on Mar. 1, source from the municipal Bureau of Commerce.
The construction of Lhasa's first farm and animal products trade fair is one of the 12 livelihood projects to be implemented in 2011 by Lhasa Municipal. This farming trade market is designed to be comprehensive in its trading areas, including agricultural produce, timbers, recyclable resources etc. Also various functions such as trade, service, and supporting facilities will be accomplished.
Located in Tharma Village, Chengguan District of Lhasa, the market will cover an overall area of 50 mu (33,300 square meters).
Lhasa planned to host a public bidding for the market construction in March, and to start the construction project by the end of this year. The fair will have different functional areas including trade, service, subsidiary and environmental protection facilities.
