Yushu quake survivors brace for winter

A second-grade student sits in a prefabricated classroom with a burning stove on Nov 15, 2010 in Yushu county, Qinghai province, which was hit by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake on April 14. Some Yushu residents have moved to new apartments, and others have received cotton tents from the government for the winter. The provincial civil affairs department has been distributing cotton tents to quake victims since September. In addition to 45,500, 20-square-meter cotton tents and 137 million tons of processed grain, a total of 445 million yuan ($66.99 million) of assistance has been distributed, photo from Xinhua.
