The 11th Panchen Lama, vice president of the Buddhist Association of China sent his congratulations on the enshrinement of a rare skull of Sakyamuni in Nanjing, capital city of Jiangsu Province.
The Buddhist relic believed to be the top part of Sakyamuni's skull has been enshrined in the Qixia Temple of Jiangsu with a public welcoming ceremony.
On his message, the 11th Panchen Lama said the unveiling of the skull indicates a recovery of "an era of great peace and prosperity" in China.
Buddhist believers paid great respect to the Buddhist relic seen as a symbol of Sakyamnuni.
The 11th Panchen Lama has just finished a series of Buddhist activities in Lhasa and Lhoka Prefecture and returned to the Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of Panchen Lamas.
