On 10th June, Liu Biwei, Chinese ambassador to Ireland received a donation of 2 thousand euros to quake-hit Yushu from overseas Chinese in Ireland, released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
Ambassador Liu met with Bao Shaojun, chairman of Overseas Chinese Association in Ireland and Dai Guoliang, vice chairman of the Association in his residence and received the donation the Association has raised.
Chairman Bao said that the overseas Chinese in Ireland have cared about Yushu since the quake occurred. Under their help, the Irish Chinese donated to Yushu expressing their care to Yushu victims.
Liu said overseas Chinese offer timely support whenever natural disasters happen in our country. He extended his deep gratitude to those in Ireland and promised that the embassy would transfer their donations to people in Yushu as soon as they can.
