A delegation from the Canada-China Legislative Association (CCLA) currently visited Lhasa, capital of Tibet.
Deputy director of Tibet's People's Congress Shinza Tenzin Choeta met and extended welcome to the delegation led by co-leader Joseph A. Day and senator Deree Kelang Puzong.
China and Canada are both influential countries in Asian-Pacific region. The relationships between the two sides have made a great stride forward since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1970, said Shinza Tenzin Choeta.
He expressed thankfulness to Canada since its delegation to the country last March received friendly reception. Shinza Tenzin Choeta hopes that their good relationships and cooperations will enjoy an in-depth development.
Shinza Tenzin Choeta also briefed the current conditions and achievements in Tibet and wished the delegation could introduce the true conditions in Tibet objectively to Canadian people after witnessing it by themselves.
Joseph A. Day said they not only enjoy the beautiful scenery and unique custom of Tibet, but further experience the changes socially and economically of the region, especially the great efforts to protect religion and language.
He showed the Canada-China Legislative Association will continue intensifying and contributing to their cooperation.
