The China Tibet Delegation led by Nyima Tsering, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Tibet Autonomous Region People's Congress visited Melbourne on June 25, 2009. During their visit, the delegation visited Australian Congress, presented the welcoming banquet, held a seminar in Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and communicated with people from all circles on Tibet issue.
On the welcoming banquet, members of the delegation talked with 8 Australian councilors on the Tibet issue, regional legislative functions etc. Councilors showed great interests on Tibet after the brief introduction of the delegation member and expressed they will tour Tibet this October to feel the real Tibet in a bid to promote the further development of the friendly relationship between regional legislative organs through exchange visits.
On the Seminar in Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology on June 25, 2 keynote speakers of the delegation introduced the huge achievements on Tibet's society and economy in the 50 years since its Democratic Reform with their own experiences,which received warm response.
