All works are based on the artist's continuous exploration of natural conditions and social appearances of people living on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, altogether revealing the change of life in this area over the past decades.
Xu is among one of the few modern artists who has made significant achievements in printmaking in China and has been widely acclaimed for several of his prints such as "Village School" and "Waiting for Ferryboat" in the early 1950s and 1960s.
A wide range of his recent prints, also with subject of Tibet, including Plateau of Sunshine and Road to Heaven are part of his latest exhibition that will run until Jan. 19.
