Tibet to hold Spring Mountain Climbing Convention 2009

Tibet Autonomous Region will hold the 9th Spring Mountain Climbing Convention 2009 from April 28 to May 5.

The event will be held on Mt. Jansung Lhamo and Mt. Chitzi simultaneously.

Mt. Jansung Lhamo with an altitude of 6,536 m is suitable for those who climb snow-capped mountains for the first time. Mt. Chitzi, 6,206 m above the sea level with an average slope grade of 50 degree, is considered ideal for those who want to experience the adventure of climbing mountains.

To date, about 80 mountain-climbing lovers from all parts of China including Hong Kong have applied for participation in the event, according to the Organizing Committee.
