Peaceful liberation of Tibet
In April 1951, the local authorities of Tibet sent a plenipotentiary delegation led by Ngapoi Ngawang Jigme to Beijing for talks on the peaceful liberation of Tibet.

    Mystery of Sagya scripture wall to be uncovered
    The wall of scripture in Sagya Monastery is 60 meters long and 10 meters high.Overall maintenance project of three key historical relics in Tibet kicked off in June, 2002, and Sagya Monastery is included.

    Songtsan Gambo and Princess Wencheng
    Some 1300 years ago,Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) left Chang'an (present-day Xi'an in Shanxi Province) to marry Songtsan gambo, king of the Tubo kingdom, which was located about 3000 km to the west. This pioneered amicable relations between the Tang and the Tubo,and the story of the marriage is still much talked about in areas inhabited by the Han and Tibetan peoples.
