On November 6, the seventh Tibetan Buddhist Doctrine Interpretation Seminar opened at the High-level Tibetan Buddhism College of China in Beijing, capital of China.
The seminar focused on the theme of interpretations of Tibetan Buddhist doctrine needing to meet the requirements of modern times and social development. The seminar was attended by a large number of people from the Tibetan Buddhist field and more than 80 papers were submitted.
The Panchen Lama Bainqen Erdini Qoigyijabu, was present and gave a speech. In his speech, the Panchen Lama said that during his visit on June 10, 2015 to Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the latter pointed out the need to actively engage in the interpretation of Tibetan Buddhist doctrine, carrying forward the positive spirits in Tibetan Buddhism, such as propagating the good and repress the bad, equality and tolerance, and helping the poor and people in need.
According to the Panchen Lama, as a Tibetan Buddhist monk, they should follow Buddhist teachings, carry on the Tibetan Buddhist traditions of patriotism and love of religion, benefit all living creatures, and unswervingly safeguard national and ethnic unity.

This year, nearly 200 people including scholars from Han Buddhist monasteries and scholars from religious research institutions as well as representatives from Buddhist institutes and monasteries in Tibet and Tibetan-inhabited areas in Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan and Yunnan Province participated.
