Mural Depicting a Scence of Beating Cymbal and Drums Happily
Cymbals can send out clear sounds with strong rhythms, and serve as percussion musical instruments not only used in common occassions, but also in Buddhist ritual ceremonies.

Mural Depicting a Beautiful Lady (fragment) 2007-12-05
After the Tubo period, painters usually emphasized the three-dimensionality of pictures by shading. In the Separatist Regimes, this technique was even more widely used. Bright colors were painted on protruding parts, such as the bridge of a nose. This technique is commonly used in Nepalese painting. This picture depicts a splendidly dressed girl donor in a detailed manner.

Frescos are a universal feature of temples and monasteries in Tibet. There are over 200 in Jokhang Monastery alone, covering an area of 300 square meters.
