Beijing University and six other inland universities will joinly support the development of Tibet University, according to a Xinhua report on Monday, Nov. 22.
To carry out China's western development strategy and follow the outline of the Fifth Forum on Work in Tibet by the central government, seven inland China's universities were organized as a group by the Ministry of Education to provide aid to Tibet University after nine years of aid-Tibet practice on a one-on-one basis.
Apart from Beijing University, the other six are also universities with strong academic strength in various fields and good domestic or international reputation, including Wuhan University, China Agricultural University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Hehai University and South China Normal University.
The seven academic institutions are reported to set about their supportive work for Tibet University by the end of this year.
