Altogether 34,273 students in Tibet Autonomous Region will sit for the high school entrance exam from June 20th to 22nd, according to the Institute of Educational Testing Service of TAR.
Subjects of the exam for Tibetan class in the hinterland comprise of literature and language, math, physics, chemistry, politics (open-book exam). Tibetan students inland also need to take Tibetan language exam. All students from Tibet Autonomous Region will be tested on Tibetan language as well as mandarin.
A total of 1,300 high school candidates are scheduled for Tibetan Class of inland middle schools,10% of whom will be children of cadres who have been sent to aid Tibet.
Students who want to apply for apply for the high school entrance exam need to meet the following requirements: students have to be Tibetans or other ethnic groups who have lived in Tibet for over two generations (including those of two generations), whose residence should be registered in Tibet Autonomous Region. For children of cadres sent to support or aid Tibet, one of whose parents need to have worked in Tibet for over 10 years and still are working in Tibet.
