20th anniversary of Beijing Tibet Middle School marked
More than 600 Tibetan students gathered in Beijing Tibet Middle School and celebrated the 20th anniversary of the school on September 22. Beijing Tibet Middle School has cultivated 3,478 Tibetan students over the past 20 years, 1,500 of them have returned to Tibet after graduation from university.

    Jiangsu teachers go to Tibet for Tibetan students
    Tibetan students of Changzhou Tibetan Middle School were gotten together on the morning of June 12 by the teachers and directors from Jiangsu Province and attended senior high school entry examination in Lhasa.

    As children of ordinary families could not afford to go to school, more than 90 percent of people in Tibet were illiterate. This situation with school education remained unchanged until after the Democratic Reform in 1959.
