Yin Fatang Tibet Education Foundation raises record high funds

In the past year, the Yin Fatang Tibet Education Foundation had raised funds of up to 1,713,200 yuan and more than 20,000 books, hitting a record high, according to sources from the 3rd Session of the 2nd Council of the foundation.

On August, 1998, Yin Fatang, the first Party Secretary of Tibet Autonomous Region, launched the "Yin Fatang Tibet Education Foundation for the Primary School 1 of Gyangze County" with altogether 160,000 yuan from his family to support the education development of Tibet.

The money raised by the foundation was awarded to excellent teachers and outstanding students as well as aiding students from low-income families.

The foundation has developed quickly with the support from all circles of life since its establishment.

In 2007, it was renamed "Yin Fatang Tibet Education Foundation".

So far, the foundation has raised altogether 8,857,200 yuan, which has been donated to 14 schools including 11 primary schools, 2 middle schools and 1 special education school.
