TAR holiday rush to last for 55 days

TAR railway station, airport and roads are ready for welcoming the holiday rush with the Spring Festival approaching. This year the holiday rush will end up on March 6th, lasting a total of 55 days.

As estimated, TAR is expected to welcome 835,000 passengers during the Spring Festival and the civil aviation will see off 8 million passengers, railways about 105,000, and the roads about 650,000.

A staff from TAR Department of Transportation and Communications introduced more and more migrant workers returned home, herdsmen went shopping in towns and visited relatives caused the time of holiday rush in Tibet longer than in other provinces. 

"We have taken some measures to strengthen the safety, to deal with emergencies and to improve services for travelers in order to ensure the holiday rush passed orderly," he said.
