Separatist Regimes, unearthed at the mTho-lding Monastery in rTsa-mdav County
After the Tubo period, painters usually emphasized the three-dimensionality of pictures by shading. In the Separatist Regimes, this technique was even more widely used. Bright colors were painted on protruding parts, such as the bridge of a nose. This technique is commonly used in Nepalese painting. This picture depicts a splendidly dressed girl donor in a detailed manner.
