Located at the Lingkor Road in the southern part of Lhasa and at the southwestern part of the Yaowangshan, a rock stands conspicuously with a height of over 20 meters and a width of some 30 meters.
The rock is covered with carved figures of Buddha. Varied in shape and colorful, these engraved figures are amazingly lifelike.
East of the carved rock is a Mani stone mound piled up in the shape of a dagoba.
In front of the Mani dagoba is a prayer tube wall formed by up to 100 prayer tubes. In the Yaowangshan Mountain is planted with sutra streamers fluttering in wind.
All those who take ritual walk in the Lingkor Road come here for worship.
Legend has it that carving the rock began during the period of Tubo King Songtsan Gambo in the 7th century. People in the city have it cleansed every a few years.
