Second Mt. Qomolangma Trekking Assembly draws near
The second Mt. Qomolangma Trekking Assembly will be held from July 28 to August 7. Team members are currently being recruited.

The trek will last a total of five days, with the lowest point on the trek 3,900 meters above sea level, and the highest 5,000 meters. In addition to trekking, team members can also visit Lhasa, Yamdrok Yutso Lake and Tashilhunpo Monastery. While on the trek, trekkers can enjoy views of Mt. Qomolangma, world’s highest peak in the world and known as Mt. Everest in the West, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Makalu, all of which are over 8,000 meters high. Trekkers can also enjoy outdoor films and taste the food of outdoor cooking.

The trekking team will gather in Lhasa on July 28. On July 29, they will travel from Lhasa to Yamdrok Yutso and then to Shigatse. On the third day, after a visit to Tashilhunpo Monastery, they will leave for Tingri County. A ceremony to mark the start of the assembly will take place on July 31.

The trek begins on August 1. The trekking schedule is as follows: day one: Qudang to Rebo (3,900 meters high) to Damopu to Shaowutso (4,650 meters high); day two: Shaowutso (4,650 meters high) to Shaowula (4,900 meters high) to Drol Lake (3,900 meters high); day three: Drol Lake (3,900 meters high) to Mibi to Tsolang to Shanong (4,450 meters high) to Tang Lake; day four: Tang Lake to TsosheRenma (5,000 meters high); day five: TsosheRenma (5,000 meters high) to the Langmala Pass (5,400 meters high) to Lhotse Base Camp (4,550 meters high) to Lhundrupling (4,250 meters high) to Qudang.

The scenery during the route is wonderful with views of beautiful canyons that drop more than 2,500 meters below, mountains taller than 8,000 meters, and diverse palnts and animals. Along the way, trekkers can see blood pheasant, large-billed crows, Entire Meconopsis, Rheum nobile, irises, snow lotus, and other rare plants and animals.
