51-year old Nepali hero, Apa Sherpa who recently bagged a new world record for ascending Mt. Qomolangma (also called Everest) for the 21st time said that this is his last ascent to the top of the world.

Talking to Xinhua on Friday right after addressing a press meeting, Apa said that he won't climb up to the top of the peak again however, he will still support mountain environment and will climb up to Base Camp to support Qomolangma cleaning campaign.

Apa, who is also popular as "Super Sherpa", a national pride of Nepal had made his 21st climb on the top under the banner of "Eco Qomolangma Expedition 2011" (EEE-2011) organized by Asian Trekking in Nepal. Apa stood on top of the world for the 21st time breaking his own record on May 11, 2011.

Apa who first climbed Qomolangma on May 10, 1989. He joined EEE campaign for his 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st summit of Mt. Qomolangma in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

"I will support EEE up to Base Camp onwards," said Apa adding that he had made previous ascends for the shake of country. "I now wish youngsters to take the opportunity to save Himalayas," he stressed.

Apa said that he won't mind youngsters breaking his world record, nevertheless he said that youngsters should not only made record for their own shake, they should clean the Qomolangma for country too.

"In leading our international team of climbers to the summit EEE-2011, I have now summited the Qomolangma for 21st time. I now feel satisfied and proud to be able to look back at a safe and successful expedition, where many new friendships and experiences were shared," said Apa. As climbing leader, I was able to draw strength from the selfless determination of my fellow Sherpas as we ventured toward the summit of Qomolangma.

Apa said that his family want him to rest and not to take the risk of climbing. Apa currently lives in Utah in the United Sates. for his children's better education.Apa has two sons and a daughter.

Apa said that he is committed to supporting the efforts of Dawa Steven Sherpa, leader of the EEE to bring awareness to the world community about Climate Change and to help remove garbage from the slopes. The EEE, a campaign to clean garbage compiled in the Qomolangma was initiated with the leadership of Dawa Steven Shepra in 2008.

According to Apa, he wanted to quit ascending the top of the Qomolangma in 2007, but Dawa Steven who ascended Qomolangma for the first time same year and saw garbage and human waste compiled in the Qomolangma urged Apa for his support.

Human waste in Qomolangma above Base Camp not only spread fouling smell but is hazardous for human health, so on the request of Dawa Steven stood up to clean Qomolangma for mountain environment.

Since 2008 until today EEE has brought down more than 13,500 kg of previous expedition garbage and more than 400 kg of human waste produced by EEE from Mt. Qomolangma for proper disposal. It also recovered four dead bodies and brought down from the mountain for a dignified burial and funeral.
