Photo shows the Dukezong town in reconstruction, Sept. 11. With a total fund of 59 mln yuan(), the reconstruction started from Jan. 2014 and is due to be accomplished by Dec.2016. In January, 2014, a fire damaged nearly 300 houses, or two thirds of the entire town in the Dukezong town. Situated at an altitude of 3,200m above sea level, and 700km from Kunming, Dukezong town in Shangri-la County was known for its well-preserved Tibetan dwellings, and used to be a popular tourist destination.[Photo/People’s Daily]
