Vegetable trade price drops in Lhasa

The trade prices of vegetables, both natively grown and transported from outside Lhasa, dropped sharply, even down by half for certain kinds by Sunday, Dec 5, according to a market survey.

At Lhasa's Yaowangshan Farmers' Market, Mr. Wang, an experienced vegetable wholesale and retail businessman said: "Since the beginning of December, vegetable prices have increasingly dropped. For example, now the price of radish is 2 yuan per kg, compared to 4 yuan per kg in November."

"Measures set for price stability by the government works immediately in the market, and now it is just a beginning," said a supermarket manager who is in charge of green-stuff sales.
