A photograph exhibition titled "Beautiful Shangri-La" officially kicked off in Bratislava of Slovak on November 9.
The exhibition displays a large number of photos taken by around 100 noted foreign photographers in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), offering visitors a general picture of the time-honored and beautiful Tibet under rapid development.
Tibet has been a well-known place of attraction for tourists from at home and abroad with its breathtaking natural scenery and unique culture, regarded as the "paradise" for photographers, said Gu Ziping, Chinese ambassador to Slovak at the opening ceremony.
He said the exhibition was helpful for Slovakians to understand and have a glimpse of the basic conditions in Tibet, which in return will further enhance cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Slovak.
More than 200 representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovak, Ministry of National Defense of Slovak, the Confucius Institute of Slovak, oversea Chinese students, teachers and so on attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition, which is jointly sponsored by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Slovak and nine overseas Chinese communities.
