Farmers enjoy harvest in Chamdo

The total farming acreage of Markam County, Chamdo Prefecture, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region(TAR) amounts to 84,904 mu, including 68,593-mu single-cropping farmands, 4,900-mu one-and-a-half-cropping farmlands and 11,411-mu two-cropping farmlands.

It is abundant in farm produce s including highland barley, wheat, corn, buckwheat, and peas.

Located in east of TAR, Baxoi County, Chamdo Prefecture, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) covers an area of over 12,564 square kilometers with a population of 40 thousand.

It is an agricultural county engaged in semi-farming and semi-animal husbandry focused on agriculture.
