In the past, the Tibetan ethnic group paid much attention to teaching and learning calligraphy. Many scholars and monks studied and practiced Tibetan calligraphy, which served as an important standard to evaluate the academic level of scholars and lamas.
With the popularization of computers, Tibetan calligraphy is gradually losing its appeal. However, Karma Trinley has a deep passion for Tibetan calligraphy. He continues to practice Tibetan calligraphy, and the strokes of his pen calligraphy are firm and smooth.
Karma Trinley is the second of the four children in a poor family. He went to school at the age of 10 but dropped out when he was only in Grade 4 due to the poverty of his family.
Despite all the hardships, Karma Trinley kept on learning by himself and made great achievements in Tibetan language, Tibetan literature, Tibetan calligraphy, etc.
In 1985, by virtue of his profound knowledge and exceptional ability, Karma Trinley was employed as a full-time lecturer in theTibetan department of Tibet University.
