The regional government of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) and China's Huaneng Group, a key state-owned energy enterprise signed a "supplementary agreement to further strengthen strategic cooperation in energy economy " on September 26, 2010, in Lhasa.
According to the agreement, Huaneng Group plans to invest 100 billion yuan in TAR in the next decade, which is expected to play a leading role in turning resource-intensive advantage into economic advantage of the region.
