Departure train tickets from Lhasa in great demand in holiday season

Berth tickets from Lhasa, capital city of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, to Beijing have been in great demand as the National Day is just around the corner, according to the Lhasa Railway Station.

However, tickets to other cities and regions can only become available on the departure day or one day ahead of departure.

Both hard seat and hard sleeper tickets for trains travelling from Lhasa to Guangzhou, Chengdu and Beijing in the next 11 days have been sold out.

Tickets for trains to Xining and Beijing won't be available until September 27 while soft sleeper tickets to Lanzhou for Sept. 26 and 30 have already been sold out.

Moreover, in accordance with the Ministry of Railways, the timetable for Train T2223 from Chongqing to Lhasa has been partly adjusted since 0:00 on Sept. 20. According to the new timetable, the train is expected to arrive at Guang'an Station at 21:36 and leave at 21:45, while the train for Dazhou Station arrive at 22:57 and depart at 23:08.
