"Dream Project": Xigaze grants subsidies to needy students

Liu Huawen, vice director of the Party committee of Xigaze Communist Youth League is granting subsidies to Tibetan students newly admitted to colleges, photo of tibet.cn.

The Party committee of Xigaze Communist Youth League granted 20 needy Tibetan students the "Dream Project" subsidies of 3,000 yuan per person on August 28.

Orphans and students from low-income families or with disabled parents, who were just enrolled in universities this year, enjoy the privilege of receiving the subsidies.

"The subsidies warm our hearts. It will help lessen our tuition burden, "said Tashi Norbu, an aid recipient.

Nyima Butri, a student from Zhaxiding Village, Da Nada Town ofXaitongmoin County was admitted to Tibet University this year, whose little brother and sister are also at school now. He said:", I will join in the work-study program of the university to ease my family's financial burden."

Launched by China Youth Development Foundation in 2007, the "Dream Project" has helped about 100 students realize their college dream in Xigaze so far.
