Shoton Festival on the way

As the Shoton Festival 2010 is drawing near, flowers can be seen everywhere to decorate the Potala Square, Jokhang Temple, the Norbublingka and streets of Lhasa, capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), which have attracted many tourists and citizens.

The Shoton Festival 2010 is to kick off on August 10. The seven-day event will include activities such as the Buddha unfolding ceremony, traditional Tibetan opera performances and horse racing. Besides, art performances, traditional sports matches, a trade fair, a beer festival, a local commodities fair and so on will also be staged during the grand festival.
