First 3D film shown in Lhasa

Two sets of 3D film equipment were installed in Lebailong International Cinema and Lhasa Cinema respectively on July 11, marking a digital era in the film industry of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).

The equipment, presented by China Film Group Corporation, is the most advanced in the world with all-metal screens imported from Canada, enabling the Tibetan film fans to enjoy high-definition scenes and sharp sound effects.

At present, only one film "Toy Story 3" is put on show in Lhasa cinemas. It is expected that more 3D films will be screened to the Tibetan audience with the development of cinemas and growing demand in the film market.

In Lhasa, a 3D film costs 60-80 yuan and a certain discount can be expected during the major festivals or holidays.
