
Living Buddhist Guoshuo is giving a speech on mandala study in the seminar.
Oversea Tibetans as well as western scholars attended the 1st "Buddhist Aesthetic, October Seminar" held in Beijing on Oct. 21 to exchange experiences and enhance cooperation on Tibetan Buddhism culture.
The seminar was co-sponsored by the China Association for Preservation and Development of Tibetan Culture (CAPDTC), the Tibetan Culture Museum of China Tibetology Research Center and the Capital Normal University.
Zheng Dui, deputy general with China Tibetology Research Center said in the seminar, as Tibetology has been gradually recognized to be international learning, international exchanges and cooperation must be attached importance to Tibetology research to achieve progress and explore new direction of research.
"It is the purpose of the seminar," Zheng added. For instance, with more and more domestic and foreign scholars and experts engaging in Tibetology study, it is being in the stage of development and has great potential.
Culture works as a bridge for communication among Chinese nationalities and the culture of Buddhism even plays an important role in boosting the unification, said Sita, deputy head of CAPDTC as well as vice minister of the United Front Work Department.
Sita said he was happy to see foreign scholars at the seminar, "especially the attendance of oversea Tibetans". He is expected to see correct and penetrating views, advices and insights in the seminar.
According to Zheng Dui, China is the hometown of Tibetology, where the research has oriented at serving the society, life as well as the public. Cultural relics in Tibet as well as Tibetan-inhabited prefectures of Sichuan, Qinghai and Yunnan are precious deposits.
In the 3-day seminar, the Living Buddhist Guoshuo, Xiong Wenbin, researcher with China Tibetology Research Center, foreign scholar Ulrich Von Schroeder and other Living Buddhists and experts will respectively give speeches on mandala study, painting art, symbols of Tibetan Buddhism and other fields.
During this period, the experts will visit the Beijing Capital Museum, Palace Museum and China Tibetology Research.
