The theme of the festival is "Fly dreams, love the prairie." There will be many competitions held during this event, including the Guozhuang dancing, horse racing, yak racing, horsemanship contest, shooting contest, and track and field competition.
Dating back to the 17th century, the festival is held every July in the Tibetan calendar. It is one of the festivals featuring ethnic characteristics which are often held during the summer season.
