The Qinghai-Tibet Railway is expected to carry 1.1 million passengers from July 1 to Aug. 31, up 11.3 percent year on year, according tyo the Qinghai-Tibet Railway Company.

As July and August are the summer holiday for studentsm the railway is projected to transport 17,700 passengers per day and will usher in a peak passenger flow at the end of August.
According to the company, most passengers during the summer vacation will be tourists, students and business people who will head primarily for Xining and Golmud in Qinghai Province, as well as Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region.
To ensure the smooth operation during the peak travel season, the company will take measures including running extra trains if necessary.
